Many people like to paint watercolors, so what is the correct way to use solid watercolor paints?
The solid watercolor pigment powder is very fine, contains a lot of glue and is not easy to separate. It can be dyed in multiple layers and has high transparency. Watercolor paints in tubes often overflow with glue, and the glue and toner are easy to separate, which will lead to a significant decline in the quality of the paint.
The solid watercolor paint is first dipped in a drop of water with a brush in the paint box, and the color can be improved after standing for a while until the paint softens. If you need to mix it with other colors, you can use a paintbrush to dip it in water and extract the color directly from the color palette, but don’t mix multiple colors at one time. After using the solid pigment, keep the box dry before closing the box.
1. Preparation tools
Solid watercolor paint needs to prepare a palette, which is used to filter and extract the lightness of the color. If you feel that the lightness is not enough, you can add water. When grading, it is best to perform grading against the reference color card.
2. Add water to soften
The color blocks of solid watercolor are all dry, and need to be used after dripping water, and then add softened color blocks. When the pen tip has too much water, you can use a paper towel to absorb part of the water.
3. Mix colors
The convenience of solid watercolor is that it can be picked up and used at any time, so mixing colors generally does not require a palette, and dipping two colors directly. If you are worried that the color of the other color block will be dirty, you can wait for the paint to dry. Wet the dirty color block with water, and use a paper towel to pick up the surface part.
4. Drying and finishing
If you run out of solid paint, you must wait until the paint in each small box is dry before closing the box, and there must be no moisture or water vapor in it.
